About the Workshop

After 5 weeks of exploring premises, honing your comedic voice, you will learn the fundamentals of humor, the basic of joke-writing through enhancing your personal narratives, and can expect to finish with 6 minutes of polished, working material to be presented in a class showcase at one of our live comedy showcase.

About the Trainer: Imah Dumagay

Since launching her stand-up career in 2018, Imah has rapidly risen as a beacon in the Dubai comedy scene. Recognized as the first Filipina stand-up comedian in the UAE, her magnetic presence and sharp wit have transcended borders, leading her to perform on international stages. In just a year after her stand-up debut, she expanded her repertoire, wearing the hat of a comedy producer from 2019. To date, she has masterminded four hour-long comedy specials and shared the stage as an opener for renowned comedic talents. She’s been a regular at the Dubai Comedy Festival since 2020, a testament to her quick rise and talent in the comedy scene.

Beyond stand-up, Imah has cultivated her craft as a comedy trainer since 2021, sharing her insights and expertise with budding comedians. Her influence in the realm of comedy in Dubai is undeniable, establishing herself as one of its foundational pillars. But her versatility doesn’t end with comedy; she’s also a stage actor, further solidifying her reputation as a multifaceted performer. With her unyielding dedication and vibrant personality, Imah remains a beloved figure, both popular and influential in the comedic scene.
